Ex-Benue Speaker, Tarzoor drums support for Gov Alia ....Welcome to my fold, Alia tells Tarzoor

Former Nigeria Ambassador to Namibia Prince Terhemen Tarzoor, on Monday thrown his weight behind Governor Hyacinth Alia's administration, stressing that the governor is transforming the State and deserved to be encouraged.

The former speaker of the State assembly noted that under Alia's stewardship, the State is experiencing a renaissance that restores faith in governance and rekindles the collective spirit of the people.

Prince Tarzoor made this remark at a press conference held at the NUJ House, Makurdi on Monday.

Account to him, the Governor's massive infrastructural strides and his prudent management of state affairs—evident in the quality of road infrastructure, diversification of the economy towards industrialization, human capital development, and his steadfast commitment to the welfare of workers has endeared him.

"My personal observations across the state, leaves me fully convinced that Governor Alia is leading with integrity, discipline, and genuine commitment to service. The governor's  humility in leadership, results-oriented focus, and devotion to the welfare of our people" he said. 

Amb Tarzoor who was the Governorship candidate  of the Peoples' Democratic Party, PDP in 2015 election, recalled that he had aspired to govern the State with lofty dreams and an unwavering desire to uplift the lives of our people. 

Said he, "Though that journey did not materialize, I have always believed that God’s plans are supreme, purposeful, and ultimately perfect in their unfolding.

"Today, I find immense joy and reassurance in seeing those same aspirations reflected so vividly in the visionary leadership of Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. Each time I visit our beloved state, I am inspired by the visible transformation taking place—from the remarkable urban renewal of our capital city to the spread of development projects across our rural communities. The renewed hope, the smiles, and the palpable satisfaction among our people speak volumes of a government working with sincerity, accountability, and a clear sense of purpose.

"The Governor's ideal deeply resonate with the ideals I have always cherished for Benue State

"For these reasons, I wish to express my profound appreciation to Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for his exemplary stewardship and to affirm my total and unwavering support for his administration.  

"In light of these achievements, I wholeheartedly endorse him for a second term as Governor of Benue State. I am committed to standing with him—lending my voice, resources, and every possible support—to ensure that the progress we are witnessing is sustained and expanded for the greater good of all.

"His emergence and performance have reawakened the ideals of purposeful leadership and inspired a new generation of Benue youths to once again believe in the promise of selfless public service. Indeed, this administration has opened a hopeful new chapter in the history of our dear state—one written in the ink of progress, purpose, and integrity.

"From this day forward, I pledge to stand firmly with this administration, offering every support within my capacity to ensure the success and continuity of its noble vision. I am deeply persuaded that under Fr. Alia’s guidance, Benue State is on the path of genuine transformation—one that will define our history and shape a brighter, more prosperous future for generations to come".

Meanwhile, Governor Hyacinth Alia has warmly welcomed  the former Ambassador for his recent public declaration of support for him.

Alia stated that Tarzoor statement of endorsement is not only a mark of humility and maturity but also a clear testimony that truth, performance, and sincerity in governance cannot be ignored for long.

The Governor in a statement by his chief press secretary, Tersoo Kula, explained that Tarzoor, as former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and former Governorship candidate in the state, Tarzoor's acknowledgment of the his transformational leadership and the visible progress across the state further reinforce the fact that development speaks louder than politics.

Kula maintained that Governor Alia remains open, accommodating, and forward-looking; committed to uniting all Benue sons and daughters under a common vision of peace, growth, and prosperity. 

"Moreover, it is a thing of joy and encouragement to see that those who once misunderstood the Governor's mission are now coming to appreciate the genuine intent and remarkable results of his leadership.

"We salute Ambassador Tarzoor for choosing truth over sentiment and progress over politics. Indeed, no one can suppress the light forever, it shines until every eye beholds it. 

"Together, we shall continue to build a greater, united, and prosperous Benue State under God. Benue Shall be great again, because in Alia, the state has found the Will and the Way", the statement concluded.
