Benue Health Commissioner Donates Mosquito Nets, Essential Drugs To NYSC mgt.

The Benue State Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr Paul Ejeh Ogwuche, has donated mosquito nets and other essential drugs  to  national youth corps members in the State.

The donation is a demonstration of the State Government’s commitment to public health and youth development in the State.

 Dr. Ogwuche who presented the items to the state coordinator of NYSC during his visit to the NYSC Orientation Camp in Wannune, Tarka Local Government Area of the State, explained that his visit to the  camp forms part of administration’s broader agenda to reposition the health sector and strengthen preventive healthcare systems.

He further said that the donation  reflect Governor Alia's resolve to channel resources into meaningful interventions that directly impact the lives of the people.

The commissioner , during the visit inspected the camp clinic and reviewed the general environment to ensure that the health standards set by the Benue State Government are being upheld. 

"My  presence today underscore political will of the current administration to prioritise the wellbeing of young Nigerians contributing to national development", he said.

While commending the camp management for maintaining a clean and well structured environment, the commissioner thanked the Corps Members for their discipline and cooperation and urged them to uphold personal hygiene and to promptly seek medical assistance whenever necessary.

He however delivered a goodwill message of  Governor Alia to the management of NYSC where Alia reaffirmed  his administration’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of Corps Members serving in Benue.

According to him, the  governor assured that his government will continue to invest in programmes that promote good health, community safety and a conducive atmosphere for service.

Dr Paul reiterated the ministry's willingness to continue to work closely with the NYSC to ensure that all orientation camps in the state are adequately equipped with essential medical supplies. 

In her remark, the State Coordinator NYSC, Mrs Veronica Garba ,accompanied by the Clinic Consultant Dr ona Ijih  and the Head of the Camp Clinic,Mrs Aluka Nancy  expressed deep appreciation to the Commissioner for his visit and meaningful support. 

She noted that the intervention reflects responsible governance and will significantly strengthen healthcare delivery within the camp.

The state  coordinator used the opportunity to advocates for increased government support and  appealed for more basic clinical supplies and equipment to boost the capacity of the camp clinic. 

She emphasised that further support from the state will reinforce the safety and wellbeing of Corps Members and enhance the overall success of the orientation exercise.

"I want to assured the Commissioner that the NYSC Benue Secretariat remains committed to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and welfare for all Corps Members throughout the programme", she said.
