2027 APC NASS Pri: Minister Utsev Visits Benue APC Chairman, Sues For Peace.

Minister for Water Resources and Sanitation, Prof. Joseph Utsev has appealed for a conducive atmosphere in the conduct of National Assembly primaries of the All Progressives Congress, APC in Benue State and across the country. 

Prof.  Utsev made the appeal  while speaking with newsmen at the APC state Secretariat where he witnessed the distribution of electoral materials to the 23 local government area of the state.

The Minister commended the orderly distribution of materials and enjoined the electorates to maintain decorum at their respective wards and local government areas of the State.

He said, 'am here in Benue State to witness and participate in our party APC prinaries which commences today across the country. Am at the APC secretariat to see how everything is going. I have come and seen how people are collecting electoral materials and everything is going on well.

"I pray that there should be peace and a conducive atmosphere to carry out a free and fair primaries. I hope at the end party members will be very happy to have chosen people they want to represent at the 2027 election". 

Also speaking the APC State chairman, Benjamin Omale assured of the party readiness to conduct a peaceful primaries, adding that adequate security have been made to ensure safety of officials and materials. 

On the visit of the Water Minister to the party secretariat, Omale said, "this is the home that accommodates all party faithfuls and so everyone is expected to pay respect to the party which is supreme and eveeyone is welcomed.

 "We are moving towards reconciling. The governor is doing well and preparing ground for everyone to be in the party. The security agencies are fully on ground and am sure that at the end, the exercise will be successful", Omale stressed.

Earlier, Chairman of the National Assembly Primaries Committee, Alh. Sabiu Saidu Mahuta assured of the conduct of a transparent, fair, credible and acceptable primary elections in this state.

He warned returning officers to refrain from been partisan, stating that every candidate, every contestant is a member of APC, and must be treated fairly and equally. 

Alh Saidu stressed that where there is consensus, a letter duly signed by the party chairnan must be written, adding that there should be consensus agreemen by all the contestants. 

He said, "Where there is consensus we want a letter in a way that it can be proven that this person is really the original writer of that letter, for record purpose.

And the chairman of the party for the state,

where you have the consensus,

and you have a document that the consensus has been reached,

"We need to know, so that we know elections will not come from that location,the location that we do is affirmation, which has a process of doing. Before we do affirmation for every seat, we must have a written consensus agreement by all the contestants. That is one of the conditions".
