Benue Deputy Speaker, Lami Attenda Jokah New Yam Festival, Urges Cultural Preservation

Deputy Speaker Benue State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chief Mrs Lami Danladi Ogenyi today attended the Jokah New Yam Festival, a celebration that showcases the rich cultural heritage of the Ufia people. The event held at St  Paul's Primary School Utonkon in the heart of the community, attracted a large crowd eager to partake in the festivities

In her address, Deputy Speaker Lami emphasized the importance of cultural preservation, urging the Ufia people to continue celebrating their unique traditions and passing them down to future generations. "Our culture is our identity," she stated. "It is essential that we cherish and uphold our customs, as they connect us to our history and strengthen our community bonds."

The Anya'Ole K'Idoma also took the opportunity to express her gratitude to the Ufia people for their unwavering support of Benue State Governor, Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia. She acknowledged the vital role the Ufia Community plays in the last General Elections that usher in the victory of the Governor and herself.

She urged the Ufia Community to donate land for the construction of Ufia Town hall so that she can fulfill her campaign promises across the ten council wards of the local government area.

The Deputy Speaker was accompanied by her loving husband, Chief Sunday Attah, Hon Jimmy Oche, Chief of Staff to Deputy Speaker, Hon Andrew Odumu, Hon Mathew Ugwuru Lona GLO Ado Local Government, Hon Benjamin Agi and host of others.
